Looking Bronzed For An Autumn Wedding

More and more, couples are opting to marry outside of the traditional summer month Saturdays. So, what do you do if you have been invited wot a wedding during the Autumn but want to look bronzed just in case the weather is nice enough to get the legs out?

Two simple options – sunbed or fake it!

Sunbed Tanning

If you have time to plan and you want a natural looking tan, you can opt for some sunbed sessions. Bear in mind you will not walk out of the sunbed after one session and look bronzed.

Like normal sunbathing, you need to build your tan up sensibly over a few days, preferably with time in between. As an example, you could go for a 36 minute sunbed course and split it over five sessions:

  • 9 days before (3 minutes)
  • 7 days before (6 minutes)
  • 5 days before (9 minutes)
  • 3 days before  (9 minutes)
  • 1 day before  (9 minutes)

Fake Tanning

A fake tan is a great way to look bronzed for the big day if you prefer not to use the sunbed, or if you have less time available. You need to make sure you plan it in around any other beauty treatments you may be having and don’t leave it until the very last minute. To get the best fake tan (especially if you are doing it yourself at home), make sure your skin is exfoliated otherwise your tan could end up looking patchy and it won’t last.

Have your fake tan around 48 hours before the big event and make sure you follow the advice from your therapist. Also, it’s essential to follow it up with plenty of moisturising.

The fake tan of choice in our salons is Kissed By Mii – a well-respected fake tanning brand – and, as well as the salon treatments, we also have aftercare products to prolong your tan – so don’t take any chances.

Timing

Remember, all tans fade. So getting it to perfection means getting it ready around one or two days before the big event.

One last piece of advice… don’t look sooooo amazing that you upstage the bride… it won’t go down to well 🙂
